Exclusive New Design Includes:

· A low battery icon alerts you to change the battery when the power is low. | |
· Automatic shut off after two hours of non-use allows for longer use. | |
· Off-Center Warning to insure accurate weights. Weigh stones in the center of pan for accuracy. |
· Place scale on a flat stable surface in a stable environment. Temperature range: 64° to 73°F, 18° to 23°C | |
· Press the lever in front to release the draftshield. | |
· Press the black button to the right of the display. Display will show 88.8.88. | |
· A warm-up count down begins -0- 9, -0- 8, … wait until it is finished and displays CAL . | |
· CAL requires the 10g weight to be placed into the center of the pan. Lower the draftshield and wait. | |
· 50.000c will show. Remove the weight and return it to its home. It will show 0.000c . | |
· You are ready to begin weighing. |
· Center the item to be weighed in the pan for an accurate weight. OFF-C will show if the stone is not properly centered. | |
· Lower the draftshield into Weighing Position to minimize the effects of air motion. Use the lowered draftshield for stable readings and precise weights. | |
· Wait for the c to appear next to the weight to indicate a stable reading. | |
· Remove the item and wait for a stable zero reading before weighing the next one. |
· Press the black button to the right of the display until ----- shows. Release the button. |
· Press the black button to the right of the display until the display shows OFF . Release the button. The scale will also automatically shut off after two hours of non-use. |
· This scale requires one 9V alkaline battery for 300 operating hours. | |
· The battery icon will flash on the display when the battery power is low and the battery should be changed. Weight readings will still be valid until the scale shuts off. | |
· The battery compartment is located on the underside of the scale. | |
· Take a thin, flat object such as the flat end of stone tweezers. Put it into the battery door groove and press inward and up. The battery door will flip open for you. | |
· Replace the 9V alkaline battery. | |
· Put the battery door hinges in place. Press battery door down until it "clicks" and shuts securely. |
Scale Indications
· 88.8.88 indicates Turn On procedure has begun. | |
· -0- 9, -0- 8 … -0- 1 indicates Turn-On Countdown. | |
· CAL indicates waiting for the calibration weight to be placed in pan. | |
· ----- indicates waiting for a stable zero weight within range. | |
· OFF-C will show if the item in the pan is not properly centered. Center it for an accurate weight. | |
· Err indicates the weight on the scale is over the limit of 50.000 c. | |
· c indicates a stable carat weight. | |
· Flashing battery icon indicates the battery needs changing. | |
· An unchanging display indication requires factory repair. |
Caring for your scale
· Please read this Owner’s Manual and calibrate your scale according to the instructions. | |
· Allow the scale to settle to room temperature when taking it from the car or an extreme environment. Avoid temperatures over 145° F /63° C. | |
· Calibrate with the supplied 10.000-gram weight only. | |
· Wait for a stability indicator to display. If stable indications do not appear, lowering the draftshield might be necessary. You might need to move your scale to a more stable environment. | |
· Avoid shocks, such as dropping it on the floor. | |
· Do not attempt to dismantle the scale. Tampering with the scale will adversely affect accuracy and will void your warranty. |

Dendritics Incorporated believes that this balance, when used in accordance with the care and instructions provided, will give a reliable method for determining weights in carats, grams, and pennyweights. Dendritics Incorporated assumes no liability for operator error or misuse of the scale or for incorrect readings. Dendritics Inc. makes no warranties regarding the dendritics M50 other than those expressly contained, and all other warranties of any kind expressed or implied, including implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are disclaimed and excluded by it.
Dendritics Incorporated warrants against defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase, exclusive of batteries. In the event of a product failure or defect under normal use and conditions, please return this balance to Dendritics along with proof of purchase, freight paid by customer, and properly packaged to prevent damage in shipping. The sole exclusive obligation of Dendritics Incorporated for the breach of this two year warranty will be to repair or replace, at no additional charge to the buyer, the defective instrument or any part of the instrument, at our option, which is proved to the satisfaction of Dendritics to have been defective at the time of purchase or which becomes defective in normal use within the warranty period. The above warranty is void if the balance has been opened or serviced by anyone other than Dendritics or their authorized service representative, or if it has been abused, misused or used for purposes other than those for which it was designed.
